Urban Decay Beauty Balm

So I took full advantage of Ulta's 21 days of beauty. Normally Urban Decay Beauty Balms are $32 and I was able to score them for $17. Steal! However these products didn't work for me. The regular beauty balm in the darkest color didn't even show on my skin. I consider myself an NC45. The Bronzing Beauty Balm didn't work either for my skin tone. The only thing that did work was the illuminator that gave me a shimmer glittery face. Which I have no problem with. I'm inlove with the mascara Perversion ... Loved it. Combs thru my unruly lashes perfectly. All together I give the beauty balms a 3 on a scale from 1-10. I feel if you're a woman of color like me you can definitely do without. But I still love urban decay I just didn't think this worked for me :) xoxo Lanna's Detour

Transformation Tuesday

Let's face it I didn't become Picasso in a day. I don't even think Picasso became Picasso in a day.

Makeup isn't easy and I'm still learning every single day. 

I wanted to share a funny picture.

I have no clue what I set my makeup with but believe it was shining .. ugh 

But I learned and I get better every day.

Back To School Essential: College Edition

You're never to old to prepare for the first day of school.

And all though school started weeks ago I decided to show you my school essentials. 

My iPad. It's very important for me to have it and it's not as heavy as my laptop. It allows me to view internet information such as power points without having such a small screen like my phone. 

Head Phones. And this is only essential to me because to stay sane during a school day you need to turn up the volume. Tune into your favorite song and relax for a few. 

A STURDY bag. Im a nursing student and my text book is the weight of a baby. You need a bag to hold all your goodies inside and not break in the middle of the hall! 

And as always stay organized. A planner can save your life and I stand by that. Jot down everything in it. I write when bills are due, work schedule, assignments and planned events.
